Welcome to our 4bd/2ba floating home!

After years of dreaming of a global adventure with our kids, we did a week long family charter in the BVI in 2022 and were hooked. In the space of a few months we had decided to take a 2-year sabbatical- sold our mountain home, quit our jobs and traded it all in for a boat!

What an incredible ride. Turas has nurtured our adventurous spirit, and safely delivered us from one paradise to the next throughout the Caribbean.

She is in turn key condition- ready for you to hoist the sails and head off on your own adventure

What do we love about her?

She is thoughtfully and solidly built- as a family of 5 we needed a boat that would feel like a home and keep us safe in all weathers. There is a place for everything and more storage than we need. A full kitchen, a board game emporium and water games for days. All of our systems allow us to comfortably work and do school from the boat in any conditions. We love to host and the huge cockpit means the adults can have sundowners up top while the kids watch a movie or play cards down below. Our large dingy (Violet) has taken us to some magical places usually with friends along for the ride.

Why are we selling?

Our adventure was only ever going to be a 2 year sabbatical. Alex is ready to return to the classroom and our eldest wants to go to bricks & mortar high school. We’re hoping to pass Turas on to the next free-spirited family who will love her as much as we do. We are sad to say goodbye to our wonderful home and adieu, for now, to our sailing lifestyle.

Why a 4-cabin monohull?

Our kids are incredible (obviously) and love each other dearly (of course) but we knew that for family harmony each kiddo needed their own cabin! We weren’t sure where our cruising would take us, so we wanted a robust, blue water capable boat to keep us safe and happy wherever we went. Turas meets the balance of comfortable living space and great sailing performance that we were looking for. (Also, only maintaining one engine and paying for one dock slip was critical!)

How does she sail?

She is super comfortable in all conditions. We’ve beam reached for days while playing cards in the cockpit, swam off the stern in a dead calm and had some wild rides in 12ft swells and 30knt winds. Whatever the conditions she is safe and reliable. Our top speed was over 10knts, but we comfortably average 7.
